Police are appealing for information after a Polish au pair was reportedly attacked while out walking near her Brisbane home.

The 24-year-old, who lives with a Polish family in Petrie, went out for her daily stroll about 8.30pm on Friday.

She knocked on the door of a house in Boona Street about 9pm with serious facial injuries after allegedly being assaulted.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in Dayboro Road, Boona Street or Beeville Road around that time to come forward.

Inspector Russell Halfpenny appealed for any CCTV or dashcam footage from anyone who was driving, riding or walking in the area.

"At this stage not sure who else was involved as we have not been able to speak to the victim," he added.

The woman is being treated at Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital while police arrange for an interpreter so that they can interview her about what happened.
