Prime Minister Tony Abbott admits the polls aren't great but insists his government is delivering for Australia.
Mr Abbott's approval rating has hit its lowest point in five months, while Labor maintains its strong lead over the coalition.
The latest Newspoll has reported a drop in the prime minister's satisfaction rating for a fourth consecutive month, down to 33 per cent.
Meanwhile Labor is still ahead on a two-party-preferred basis, leading 54 to 46 per cent.
A day after admitting his government has had a "ragged" time of late, Mr Abbott acknowledged the polls "aren't so great".
"But no-one said that the task of budget repair would be easy," he told the Nine Network.
"I say to the people of Australia, we are delivering for you. That is what we set out to do when we were elected and every day this year that is exactly what we have done."
