Poor surf leads to Tahiti Pro lay day

Australia's six remaining Tahiti Pro hopes have been given the day off along with the rest of the field due to poor surf at Teahupo'o.

Small surf has led to a lay day being called at the Tahiti Pro ahead of third-round action in Teahupo'o.

Six Australians were in line to take to the water at the WSL event on Wednesday until organisers decided to pull the pin due to decreasing one-metre surf.

Officials will make another call on Thursday with the surf "forecast to decrease throughout Wednesday before the next pulse arrives in the next two days," WSL commissioner Kieren Perrow said.
