Three years after surviving on AFL handouts to stay afloat, Port Adelaide have posted an annual profit for the first time in eight years.
Port posted a $211,302 profit in 2015 which president David Koch said represented a $10.6 million turnaround in the past three years.
"It is a really historic day for Port Adelaide. For the first time since 2007, we are announcing a profit," Koch told reporters on Friday.
"This follows a $2.5 million loss last year ... in the last three years, it's a $10.6 million business turnaround.
"For us, it's a really remarkable achievement.
" ... Three years ago, we were questioned on financial viability; we were questioned on whether we should be in the competition; we were questioned on whether Adelaide could sustain two AFL clubs.
"And a result like this, and the three-year performance, really does underpin the fact that Port Adelaide is sustainable, it's competitive and has a really bright and aggressive future."
He said this year's result was underpinned by the club achieving record corporate revenue, a record 60,457 members and average home crowds of 43,802 - the fourth-highest in the AFL.
