Port rubbish talk of target on Cartlon ace

Port Adelaide assistant coach Brett Montgomery says his AFL club won't place a proverbial target on Carlton ace Patrick Cripps.

Port Adelaide are rubbishing talk they will place a proverbial target on Carlton gun Patrick Cripps in Saturday's AFL match.

A week after chopping down Melbourne ace Max Gawn with physical and verbal attacks, the Power say they're not plotting to target the opposition's best player each week.

"Every team has got people that are worthy of attention (but) if anyone wants to go down the 'target' sort of road, that is not part of our language," Port assistant coach Brett Montgomery told reporters on Friday.
