With their finals hopes seemingly shot, Port Adelaide now want to put holes in the playoff bids of their AFL rivals.
And midfielder Matthew Broadbent says Port's spoiling campaign starts with Saturday afternoon's away fixture against eighth-placed North Melbourne.
"With the position we sit in, that (spoiling role) is probably something that we can actually play - try and do a bit of damage," Broadbent told reporters on Wednesday.
Port, currently in ninth spot some three wins outside the top eight, also meet certain finalists Greater Western Sydney, Sydney and Adelaide before the end of the minor round.
Broadbent said the Power hadn't given up on reaching the finals, given it was still mathematically possible.

"We will never say never," he said.
"But I think the focus is now to try and get a scalp. We haven't really beaten anyone above us."
Port haven't defeated a top eight side all season with Broadbent highlighting sloppy disposal as a reason.
"We just have to polish up a bit and use the ball a bit better, and keep that contest up, because you can't afford to drop off against good sides in that area," he said.
Broadbent said his midfield colleague Brad Ebert faced more tests on his bruised ribs later in the week to determine if he could play against the Roos in the Etihad Stadium fixture.
