Star Port Adelaide utility Robbie Gray will miss a month of the AFL after needing surgery on a broken hand.
Gray suffered the injury in the first quarter of Friday night's home win over North Melbourne, but played out the game and finished with 18 possessions and six marks.
With scans showing the extent of the injury, he was undergoing surgery on Sunday.
It is a major blow to the Power, who are fifth with a 4-2 record.
Also on Sunday, top GWS midfielder Stephen Coniglio was optimistic about his finger injury.
Coniglio wore a glove on his right hand after halftime during Saturday night's win over Sydney at the MCG.
He told the Nine Network he needed an injection during the game and he underwent scans on Sunday morning.
"I just copped a little knock on the finger," he said. "It's actually pulled up relatively well.
"It feels okay, just a little bit swollen.
Teammate Lachie Whitfield also suffered a corked thigh in the win.
St Kilda forward Jack Lonie has avoided a season-ending ACL rupture, but will be sidelined with a knee injury.
Lonie had a nasty hyperextension of his right knee and was on crutches.
The Saints confirmed on Sunday he had ligament damage to the lateral side of the knee.
It is unclear how long Lonie will be out of action.
"We all saw how significant the hyperextention was and so to avoid a season-ending injury was positive news," said Saints football boss Simon Lethlean.
"Jack's been in a great form for us and, hopefully, that continues in the second half of the season."
Lethlean also said captain Jarryn Geary left hospital on Sunday after surgery last weekend on his thigh to relieve pain from a corked thigh.
Meanwhile, Carlton young gun Charlie Curnow was a late withdrawal from Sunday's Launceston game against Hawthorn because of knee soreness.
