A possum has been blamed for mass delays across southeast Queensland's train network.

All trains apart from two tracks had been delayed in both directions from Roma Street Station, a Queensland Rail spokeswoman said on Thursday morning.

The possum caused a fault on overhead power lines at the station about 5.30am.

The problem took an hour to fix but commuters were warned to expect residual delays of up to 15 minutes.
