Power bill cut for some SA households

The South Australian government has negotiated a new power deal for concession holders.

More than 170,000 South Australians could save $585 off their annual power bills thanks to a new discount deal.

The state government has brokered the deal with Origin Energy for all consumers who currently receive energy concessions.

"Thousands of South Australian households struggle to pay high utility costs and that is why we re-negotiated a better deal from an 18 to 20 per cent discount to help people who need it," Human Services Minister Michelle Lensink said.
