Port Adelaide are resigned to losing defender Tom Jonas for their home AFL clash with the Western Bulldogs.

Jonas injured a hamstring in the first term of Friday night's big win over Richmond.

He played out the game, but the hamstring remains a problem and coach Ken Hinkley said they would take no risks with the backman ahead of Thursday night's Adelaide Oval clash.

"We're clearly going to have an issue with Jonas," Hinkley told Sportsday SA.

"Jonas is probably going to struggle to come up, we'll confirm that in the morning once we get through it, but he's got a little nick in his hammy.

"He'll be out, probably."

Jonas has been in strong form this season and it would be a blow to the Power defence if he is unavailable.
