Power sweating on MRP over Ryder clash

Port Adelaide's Paddy Ryder is awaiting the AFL match review panel's assessment of an off-the-ball incident in the Power's loss to Adelaide.

Port Adelaide are sweating on the AFL match review panel's assessment of Paddy Ryder's off-the-ball clash with Adelaide's Riley Knight.

The young Crows forward was floored with just over two minutes left to play in the fiery local derby won by Don Pyke's side and indicated to a trainer he had been hit in the jaw.

Ryder, playing his third game back from a year-long doping ban, starred with 48 hitouts but could face a stint on the sidelines.

"He got a bump off the ball and he reacted to it," Power coach Ken Hinkley said.

"You'd prefer he didn't have to react to it, but it's a game of football. It's competitive.

"From what I've seen ... I don't think there was an enormous amount in it. But we'll let that be and see what happens.

"The vision I've seen is not very clear so I'm not going to guess."

The match review panel's assessment of round three action will also include Hawthorn veteran Luke Hodge's off-the-ball bump on Gold Coast star Gary Ablett.

West Coast skipper Shannon Hurn's collision with Richmond's Jason Castana will also be assessed.

Hurn cannoned into the back of the Tigers forward in a marking contest at the MCG on Saturday.

North Melbourne captain Jack Ziebell will come under scrutiny after he clattered into Giants defender Phil Davis, who injured his shoulder in the incident.

Gold Coast's Jarryd Lyons was reported for striking after he felled Hawthorn's Liam Shiels with his right fist in the first quarter at Metricon Stadium.
