Talk about having a vision for New South Wales' future.

NSW Premier Mike Baird arrived at work on Wednesday in a DeLorean to celebrate Back To The Future Day.

In the 1985 film Back to The Future 2, starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, teenager Marty McFly and boffin Doc Brown travel to October 21, 2015 using a DeLorean converted into a time machine.

When they arrive Doc and Marty find shoelaces that tie themselves, hoverboards and 1980's nostalgia bars. None of which, sadly, are in common use in the real 2015.

Posting a video of his DeLorean ride on Facebook, the premier said he'd enjoyed his trip to the future, and reassured voters he would use what he had learnt when planning for the state.

"I've just seen the future for NSW. It looks fantastic," Mr Baird exclaims stepping out of the DeLorean.

"Great Scott!! Turns out we still need roads... Happy Back To The Future Day!".
