Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk plans to "be herself" at Thursday night's debate against Opposition Leader Tim Nicholls and One Nation's Steve Dickson.
In what will be the only debate of the state election, the trio will go head to head at the Broncos Leagues Club in Brisbane in a bid to win voter support.
But if Ms Palaszczuk is worried about the showdown in the wake of a new poll that shows the Liberal National Party creeping ahead, she's not showing it.
"I can remember being in opposition when there was seven of us and I was up against 78 and I was up against the entire Newman ministry," she said.
"I'm quite sure I can cope with two former ministers."
A ReachTEL poll published by Fairfax on Wednesday revealed the LNP is ahead on a two-party preferred basis with 52 per cent to Labor on 48 per cent.
The poll, commissioned by not-for-profit lobby group The Parenthood, also showed strong support for One Nation and other independent candidates.
Ms Palaszczuk said it was going to be a "tough fight".
"I feel like I'm climbing Mount Everest all over again," she said.
Meanwhile, Labor appealed to its base on Thursday by announcing $90 million in spending for TAFE campuses and training opportunities cross Queensland.
That funding would go towards refurbishing six key campuses from the Gold Coast to Cairns as well as a $4 million new plumbing and fire training facility at Beenleigh.
"We want TAFE to be the premium provider of training in this state, and the initiatives I'm announcing today will ensure our facilities are modern, fit-for-purpose and flexible," Ms Palaszczuk said.
The announcement came as figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed Queensland's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose 0.1 per cent to 6.0 per cent in October, despite more than 12,000 people finding work during the month.
