As excitement mounts ahead of tonight's second State of Origin game the New South Wales and Queensland premiers' are upping the ante on their bet.

They've had coloured flags specially designed to drape over the losing state's iconic bridge.

Premier Anna Bligh says New South Wales will fly a special maroon flag from the Sydney Harbour Bridge if Queensland beats the Blues in tonight's Origin two in Brisbane.

If the Blues win their flag will fly on the Story Bridge.

The premier of the losing state will also host a footy fundraising breakfast for breast cancer research.
