In the United States, Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz and Democrat Bernie Sanders have had decisive wins in the Wisconsin presidential primary, beating their rivals Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
The win by Ted Cruz is a blow to Donald Trump's hopes of getting enough delegates for the party's nomination ahead of the July convention.
The victory by Bernie Sanders is his sixth in the last seven presidential nominating contests.
But he still faces the difficult task of overtaking Hillary Clinton as the presidential race moves to New York and five other eastern states later this month.
After his victory in Wisconsin, Ted Cruz declared it was a night for unity and hope where young people could look forward to jobs being brought back to the United States.
"By repealing Obamacare, reigning in the federal regulators that are killing small businesses, passing a flat tax and abolishing the IRS."
Ted Cruz told his supporters he's confident of eventually becoming the next US president.
"Either before Cleveland, or at the convention in Cleveland, together we will win a majority of the delegates, and together, we will beat Hillary Clinton."
Donald Trump leads the Republican race, but some in his campaign are worried he could fall short of the number of delegates needed to get the party's nomination.
That prospect could result in a contested convention where the party leaders - and not voters - choose the party nominee.
Bernie Sanders told his supporters some of the opinion polls show he's way ahead of Republican rival Donald Trump.
"Momentum is that when you look at national polls or you look at statewide polls we are defeating Donald Trump by very significant numbers."
Hillary Clinton still holds a sizable lead over Bernie Sanders despite her recent losses, but Mr Sanders remains confident.
"I think the people of this country are ready for a political revolution and if you ignore what you hear on corporate media the facts are pretty clear, we have a path toward victory, a path toward the White House."
