Priddis headlines Eagles' AFL inclusions

West Coast coach Adam Simpson faces a huge selection headache as eight players push for AFL recalls.

West Coast coach Adam Simpson will have a big headache this week - and he wouldn't want it any other way.

Simpson will have eight first-choice players available for recalls for Sunday's AFL clash with Port Adelaide at Domain Stadium.

Brownlow medallist Matt Priddis (leg), two-time Coleman medallist Josh Kennedy (calf), skipper Shannon Hurn (concussion), Mark LeCras (hip), Will Schofield (hip), Jackson Nelson (hamstring), Josh Hill (illness), and Scott Lycett are all ready to return barring any late setbacks.

But it's hard to change a winning side, and Simpson has already said he won't recall everyone this week.

It means some tough decisions will need to be made on players who are used to being automatically selected.

Simpson has already confirmed Priddis will definitely return, while Kennedy and Hurn are in that same bracket if they can make it through training this week.

But LeCras, Schofield, Nelson, Hill, and Lycett are no guarantees.

It's a selection headache that Simpson is embracing, especially following on from last week's seven-point win over the Bulldogs.

"We need to find the balance between bringing back some good, experienced A-grade type of players for us, and rewarding good form for the weekend," Simpson said.

"It's such a combative season, there's playings dropping left, right, and centre at the moment.

"So to have more players available is a good problem. But there's going to be some issues where they don't fit into the side as well."

Priddis came under fire for his lacklustre display in the loss to Melbourne a fortnight ago.

The Brownlow medallist tallied just 17 disposals for the match, and his lack of leg speed has been criticised several times this season.

Simpson revealed Priddis struggled against the Demons after copping a big hit to his thigh.

And he said the constant chatter about Priddis being a liability only arose after losses.

"I don't get asked that question after we win," Simpson said.

"No one was asking me after we played the Bulldogs here, or Geelong, or Port Adelaide in Adelaide, or St Kilda.

"That's a win-loss question."

Defender Sam Butler will miss up to a month with a hamstring injury.
