The Duke and Duchess of York have announced their daughter, Princess Eugenie, is engaged to entertainment manager Jack Brooksbank.

"Her Royal Highness and Mr Brooksbank became engaged in Nicaragua earlier this month.

"The wedding will take place in the autumn of 2018 at St George's Chapel in Windsor, with further details to be announced in due course."

Princess Eugenie, 27, met Brooksbank, 31, in 2010 – reportedly while on a Swiss ski trip with friends.

The wedding venue is the same one where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will wed on May 19.

Princess Eugenie's parents, the Duke of York and his former wife Sarah Duchess of York, were "delighted" by the news.

Nicola and George Brooksbank, the parents of Jack, said in a statement: "We could not be more delighted with the news of the engagement.

"We are completely over the moon and are very excited for them both."

Brooksbank is the manager of London nightclub Mahiki.
