Prison escapee captured in Sydney

A 21-year-old woman has been arrested in an inner Sydney apartment after going missing from a transitional centre in the city's west in September.

A fourth female prisoner has been captured after fleeing a western Sydney transitional centre two months ago.

The 21-year-old woman was arrested at a Waterloo unit in inner Sydney on Saturday morning after going missing with three other women from the Bolwarra Transitional Centre at Emu Plains on September 14.

She was charged with escaping lawful custody, was refused bail and is due to front Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.

The Bolwarra centre, outside Emu Plains Correctional Centre, is a residential facility for female offenders nearing the end of their sentences who are approved for day leave.

All four escapees have been recaptured and remain in custody.
