Prisoner dies after Perth prison bashing

A Wooroloo Prison Farm inmate who was assaulted on Monday has died of his injuries in a Perth hospital overnight.

The prisoner who was assaulted at a low-security prison farm east of Perth has died in hospital overnight.

The incident occurred at the Wooroloo Prison Farm at about 6pm (WST) on Monday.

Major Crime Squad officers are investigating the matter, which will also be treated as a death in custody by the WA Coroner.
