Project to boost camel exports to Mideast

A new project aims to increase Australia's export of breeder camels and genetics to the Middle East and Gulf States.

The federal government hopes a new project will remove the humps holding back camel exports to the Middle East and Gulf states.

Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce has announced $350,000 towards camel export and horticulture projects aimed at cutting export costs and increasing trade opportunities.

Mr Joyce says the camel export project will have flow-on benefits for remote central Australian communities.
