Police have raided properties across metropolitan and regional South Australia in their hunt for a man wanted over a fatal stabbing at an Adelaide shopping centre.

Shaun Falkiner is the key suspect in the murder of Alexander Watts, 25, who was fatally stabbed just outside the Elizabeth Shopping Centre on Thursday night.

The men knew each other and there was an altercation before the stabbing.

A man believed to be Falkiner was then seen walking away from the area with a woman, believed to be his partner, pushing a baby in a pram.

"Since that time investigators have searched a large number of properties in the metropolitan area as well as several regional properties in the Riverland and Barossa Valley," SA Police say in a statement on Saturday.

"Some searches have been the result of information received through calls to Crime Stoppers."

A white Holden Commodore believed to be used by Falkiner was found on Friday afternoon and is being examined by police.

Police continue to appeal for the 26-year-old to hand himself in.

They are also asking for further witnesses to come forward, specifically anyone who was near or travelling on bus number 441 near the yellow entrance at the Elizabeth Shopping Centre at about 6.49pm on Thursday.

Anyone with information is asked to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
