More than 100 protesters have gathered outside Queensland's parliament to hit out at the state government granting a mining lease for Adani's mega-coalmine.

The government at the weekend cleared the last major state hurdle for the Indian miner to proceed with its $22 billion mine, rail and port project in the Galilee basin and at Abbot Point.

But protesters on Monday insisted the fight was not over, particularly given there were still two ongoing judicial reviews against the mine proceeding through the courts.

Australian Conservation Foundation spokeswoman Nadia Montague, whose organisation's case is set down for a Federal Court hearing in early May, told the crowd it should not give up.

"This is not over, we are still fighting this," she said.

"This can not happen, it won't happen and we're too strong to let this happen."

GetUp organiser Ellen Roberts said the government was exaggerating the mine's economic benefits, while playing down the damage it would cause to the Great Barrier Reef.

"We know that the jobs figures for the Adani mine are exaggerating, we know they keep saying 10,000 (or) 5000, but it's much, much less than that and it's been tested in court," she said.

"And yet the lies proliferate."

Ms Roberts said the state's economy was moving away from a reliance on mining anyway, while tens of thousands of people relied on the reef for employment.

Those attending the rally were encouraged to bombard Mines Minister Anthony Lynham's social media accounts and call Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk's office number to explain why the mine should not go ahead.
