The High Court is hearing a challenge by lobby group GetUp to the constitutionality of amendments to the Electoral Act made by the Howard government.
The protester wearing a Liberal shirt was vocal standing ahead of the High Court Justice's arrival and beginning a verbal stoush with another man who told him to sit down.

The protester then jumped the barrier .. leaping across tables where legal teams sat and onto the bench before being stopped by court officers and taken away by police.
A GetUp! spokesman later told AAP the protester was not from his organisation.
