A so-called psychic crocodile in the Northern Territory has chosen Opposition Leader Tony Abbott to be successful this Saturday.

Big Wendell - named after dual rugby league and rugby union international Wendell Sailor - took a bite out of a pole containing a picture of Mr Abbott.

Wade Huffman from Crocosaurus Cove in Darwin, where Big Wendell resides, told the Northern Territory News on Thursday that he'd met two people who said they'd vote for whoever the five-and-a-half metre, 800kg saltie chose.

His psychic croc predecessor Harry predicted the last soccer World Cup winner and Julia Gillard to defeat Mr Abbott last federal election in 2010.
