Public funeral for punch victim to be held

A public funeral will be held on Friday for Daniel Christie who died in hospital on Saturday after he was punched in Kings Cross.

The funeral for Daniel Christie, who died after being punched in Kings Cross, will be held in Sydney's northwest on Friday.

The 18-year-old was attacked on New year's Eve and died in hospital on the weekend.

Shaun McNeil, 25, is accused of murdering Mr Christie by punching him in an unprovoked attack in the notorious Sydney nightlife precinct.

Police say a public funeral for Mr Christie will be held at the Hillsong Church Convention Centre in Baulkham Hills at 10am (AEDT) on Friday.
