An escaped elephant has taken a tour around the streets of Zurich, causing police to close roads and pedestrians to run for cover.
Sabu, a five tonne male elephant, sparked panic when he broke free from his home at the Circus Knie and headed for the middle of Switzerland's biggest city.
The 10-foot-tall elephant was seen bathing in a lake, before he headed up the main street towards the railway station. He was finally lured into a lorry by his owners.
"The elephant was walking slowly and calmly through the city,” a Zurich police spokesperson said.
"He didn't run, didn't chase anyone, he caused very little damage and no one was hurt," he added.

"But it was still a frightening sight for many people, who are clearly unused to seeing such a large animal on the loose," the spokesperson said.
