Punter scoops $140K with All Blacks win

The biggest bet ever placed with New Zealand's TAB is on the money as the All Blacks take the Rugby World Cup.

A punter has made $NZ140,000 ($A132,380) profit as the biggest bet ever placed with the TAB came good with New Zealand's 34-17 victory over Australia in the Rugby World Cup final.

The TAB is not disclosing who placed a $NZ400,000 ($A378,232) bet for the All Blacks to win the World Cup in London, saying only that they lived in the North Island.

The bet was placed at $NZ1.35 ($A1.28), meaning the TAB will pay out $NZ540,000 ($A510,614), giving the punter a $NZ140,000 ($A132,380) reward for his faith in the side.
