Maverick Nationals MP George Christensen has donned a sleeveless, lycra bodysuit, channelled Beyonce and danced up a storm in bid to win support for a ring road in his Queensland seat.

Mr Christensen wants funding for a second stage of the Mackay Ring Road in his north Queensland electorate of Dawson.

In a video posted on his Facebook page, the MP wears the body-hugging black lycra and dances to the Beyonce hit, Single Ladies.

"I'm saying to government 'they've gotta put a ring on it' and I'm not ashamed to don lycra to make it happen," he said.

Fortunately for viewers, the bottom half of the MP is "censored", however, Mr Christensen is threatening to release an uncensored version of the video if support is not forthcoming.
