Qantas is to enter conciliation talks with long-haul pilots at Fair Work Australia, to try and resolve a year-long dispute over pay and conditions.
The airline says it sought conciliation after the pilots' union refused to meaningfully negotiate on pay and conditions, unless their demands for equal conditions for pilots are met.
The Australian and International Pilots Association began low-key industrial action in July, the first by long-haul pilots in 40 years, over demands that Qantas subsidiary Jetstar give its pilots the same pay and conditions as Qantas long-haul pilots.
