Qld airport security staff 'underpaid'

A union has lodged a claim in the Federal Court claiming a security firm underpaid staff at airports across Queensland by $300,000.

Some security staff at airports across Queensland have been underpaid by $300,000, a union has claimed.

United Voice alleges 10 workers were underpaid a $20-$25 weekly allowance by MSS Security, owned by Indian firm SIS, from August 2013 until recently.

The union, which is pursuing the claim in the Federal Court, says the firm's alleged cost-cutting could jeopardise passenger safety.

Comment has been sought from MSS.
