Police are hunting for a man who was caught talking to a woman before she was found with terrible facial injuries in bushland south of Brisbane.

Queensland police are determined to find a man who viciously assaulted a woman, breaking her nose, eye sockets and leaving her with a shoe imprint on her face.

A couple passing by bushland near a shopping centre at Ipswich, south of Brisbane, found the 49-year-old with serious facial injuries on the evening of April 12 this year.

Police have released a security camera image of a man who was seen talking to the woman before she was found.
