A young girl who was found unresponsive in a private pool on Queensland's Sunshine Coast on the weekend has died in hospital.
The 10-year-old was pulled from the water at Caloundra on Sunday and taken to the Caloundra Hospital in a critical condition.
She died at Brisbane's Lady Cilento Children's Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.
The girl was a competent swimmer but had a medical condition, according to reports.
The incident occurred on the same day that a three-year-old girl drowned in a 25-metre council pool at Logan, south of Brisbane.
The three-year-old was found floating face-down at the Bethania Aquatic Centre, and could not be revived.
Two lifeguards were on duty at the time and the incident is now the subject of a detailed investigation by the council.
Another pool tragedy in the state's far north claimed the lives of two women who were found in a resort pool in Cairns last week.
One of the women died in hospital last week while her friend died on Tuesday morning after spending several days on life support.
Police said the pair could not swim.
