The Queensland Greens have been accused of pushing "loopy" and "populist" policies to break into state parliament after wanting to introduce four extra public holidays.
State of Origin game three, a national parks day, an indigenous celebration and International Women's Day would all be made public holidays under their proposal unveiled on Friday.
Aiming to have three Brisbane-based candidates become the first Greens elected to Queensland parliament, the policy comes two days after the party promised $1 public transport fares.
Both Labor and the Liberal National Party lashed out at their minor rival following Friday's announcement.
Opposition Leader Tim Nicholls said it was another example of "more loopy policies from a loopy party", while Deputy Premier Jackie Trad said the November 25 election was about jobs.
"If other political parties want to put forward populist ideas then that's up to them," she said while on the campaign trail in Bundaberg.
But Greens candidate for Maiwar Michael Berkman rejected suggestions the party could not be taken seriously.
"This is just one policy that we've proposed in amongst a really broad sweep," he said.
"Work-life balance is a serious issue, I think all Queenslanders will agree with that."
Mr Berkman said Queenslanders were working longer and harder than ever and deserved a break to spend more time with their families.
"We think these additional public holidays are a really simple measure we can take," he said.
"The big picture here is that a happy and healthy workforce is a productive workforce."
Mr Berkman said the proposed holidays were just suggestions and the party wanted to hear from voters about the days which are important to them.
