A hiker missing for five days in southeast Queensland's Lamington National Park was in "very good spirits" when he was found on Thursday morning.

The Queensland Ambulance Service's Adrian Tong said the 58-year-old was located at a farmhouse on Christmas Creek Rd about 9.30am.

"He was in very good spirits," he said.

"He just had very minor cuts and grazes to his legs and arms."

Mr Tong said the man likely had a ration pack with him so had access to food and water during his ordeal.

The man called police on Saturday afternoon to report himself lost in the national park, which is located near the Queensland and New South Wales border.

He was advised to stay where he was but police failed to find any trace of him on Sunday morning.

Police, SES crews and experienced bushwalkers have spent the past five days conducting a large-scale air and ground search in the hopes of finding the man.

The man was taken to Logan Hospital for observation but may be discharged later on Thursday.
