The Queensland government will invest a million dollars in drone technology from its Advance Queensland fund.

The government on Monday announced a new deal with Boeing and its unmanned aircraft systems subsidiary Insitu Pacific to support up to 100 jobs and see drone technology used in a range of industries, as well as search and rescue and environmental management.

"This is ground-breaking technology," Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said.
