Qld Labor denies One Nation election deal

One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson claims Queensland Labor approached her for a deal ahead of the state election, but Labor denies any such offer.

Pauline Hanson has accused the Queensland Labor party of approaching her for a deal to stay out of each other's way ahead of the next state election.

Speaking in the Senate on Monday, Senator Hanson claimed she was approached by Labor state secretary Evan Moorhead.

Senator Hanson claims Mr Moorhead offered to run dead in certain One Nation strongholds in exchange for her backing off from Labor-held seats.

Mr Moorhead has denied the meeting ever happened, while Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk also rejected the claims.

"There is no deal between the Labor Party and One Nation. There is going to be a clear choice at the next election." Ms Palaszczuk said on Monday afternoon.

It comes as the West Australian Liberal party caused waves by announcing it will preference One Nation ahead of the Nationals.

Queensland Liberal National Party leader Tim Nicholls has not ruled out making a deal with the right-wing fringe party, referring to them as "the B-team" over Labor's "C-team" at a press conference recently.

The state election is due by May 2018 but is expected to be called in the second half of this year.
