Qld man charged after explosives threat

A 31-year-old man has been charged with weapons and explosives offences after a six-hour siege at a house south of Bundaberg.

A man will face court after a six-hour siege that ended with Queensland's police bomb squad searching a home for explosives.

Police were called to the house at River Heads, south of Bundaberg, about 10am on Thursday following reports a man was inside armed with guns and explosives.

He surrendered to officers about six hours later and has been charged with one count each of possess weapon, possess explosive, possess dangerous drug and possess utensils.

The 31-year-old is due to face the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on January 28.
