Queenslander Jonas Ramone is waiting anxiously for news from his family in Haiti after a massive earthquake struck the Caribbean island.
Mr Ramone, who lives on the Sunshine Coast, says he has been trying to contact his mother,
22-year-old brother, 17-year-old sister and 12-month-old niece since the 7.0 magnitude quake struck on Tuesday.

It is feared the death toll from the disaster could top 100,000.
Mr Ramone, 28, was reunited with his Haitian family in 2007 after being adopted out to an Australian family when he was six years old.
"I spoke to them just before it happened but by the time it happened I tried to call back but couldn't get through because the towers have come down," he said.
"They usually contact my 'correspondent' I have over there or they contact me by email or prank call me and I will call them back."
Mr Ramone said it was very distressing.
His fiancee Ada Perez has posted photos of Mr Ramone's family on the social networking site Facebook, pleading for information on their whereabouts.
