Qld man hit by own stolen car

An alleged car thief remains on the run after a police helicopter chase south of Brisbane led to the arrest of his two accomplices.

A man, 71, demanding the return of his stolen car, has been hit and injured by the vehicle in a Gold Coast suburb.

Hours later one of the alleged thieves was still on the run after a police helicopter chase south of Brisbane led to the arrest of his two accomplices.

The man and his wife, travelling in another car in Biggera Waters, spotted their Hyundai i30, which had been stolen overnight, late on Tuesday morning.

The man got out of his car and banged on the windscreen of his stolen car, demanding the thieves return it but sustained a laceration to his head, media reports say.

Police say the men had stolen a series of different cars during the day, with a police helicopter tracking their movements.

Two of them were arrested at Logan early on Tuesday afternoon but one remained on the run.

The men were reportedly wanted for a string of robberies and car thefts.
