A man remains in a critical but stable condition after falling from a motorised scooter and suffering a heart attack in Brisbane.
The 50-year-old from Woolloongabba was resuscitated by paramedics at South Bank Parklands at 12.20am on Wednesday and taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
He hit his head in the fall, and remains in hospital.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said it is believed he may have tumbled down some stairs, with police saying he was wearing a helmet at the time.
Lime, the company behind the popular electric scooter rentals, says the scooter the man was using did not malfunction.
"I do think that this is a timely reminder for anyone riding a scooter, a bike, a skateboard, to be conscious of their safety, to ride safely and abide by the road rules," Lime's public affairs manager Nelson Savanh said.
Mr Savanh said Lime was helping police with their investigation, and had looked at data associated with the man's trip.
It is not the first time a rider has been injured with grazes, dislocations, fractures and head injuries reported in the six months since the scooters first became available in Brisbane.
The company says its scooters have been used for 900,000 rides during that period.
