A man who allegedly threatened a southeast Queensland family outside their home has been arrested after turning up at the local police station.
Police say the 26-year-old man allegedly claimed to have a handgun and threatened a woman and five children outside their Beaudesert home around noon on Wednesday.
The family fled inside and called police but the man drove away from officers at speed.
Soon after officers spotted him parking across the driveway of Beaudesert Police Station and the Beaudesert Magistrates Court, and he was taken into custody while walking towards the station.
The Beaudesert man is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with a committing a public nuisance, evasion, unlicensed driving, drink driving (after failing to provide a specimen) and wilful damage of police property.
