Qld MPs retiring at Saturday's election

A list of the MPs who will be retiring at Saturday's Queensland election.

QUEENSLAND MPS RETIRING IN 2015 AS THE STATE GOES TO THE ELECTION ON JANUARY 31:

LIBERAL NATIONAL PARTY:

* Peter Dowling (Redlands) - Dumped by party members after controversy involving affair; first elected in 2009

* Bruce Flegg (Moggill) - Lost preselection after falling out with party executive; has been MP since 2004

* David Gibson (Gympie) - Elected in 2006, retiring after criminal charges against him in 1999 became public

* Howard Hobbs (Warrego) - Longest-serving MP retiring after 29 years

* Vaughan Johnson (Gregory) - Chief Whip retiring after 26 years

* Ted Malone (Mirani) - Assistant Minister for Emergency Volunteers retiring after 21 years

* Rosemary Menkens (Burdekin) - retiring after 11 years

LABOR:

* Tim Mulherin (Mackay) - Announced retirement suddenly in the first week of the campaign, citing family reasons. Held Mackay since 1995

* Desley Scott (Woodridge) - Retiring after 14 years

INDEPENDENT:

* Liz Cunningham (Gladstone) - Retiring after 20 years as MP and eight years on the local council.
