Queensland great Trevor Gillmeister says the Maroons must welcome back veteran prop Matt Scott to the State of Origin fold in 2019.

Former Queensland captain Trevor Gillmeister says the Maroons must welcome back veteran prop Matt Scott to the State of Origin fold in 2019.

Scott's 22-game Origin career appeared at the crossroads after he was surprisingly snubbed for the 2018 series which the Maroons lost 2-1.

But Gillmeister said he "would not hesitate" bolstering the Maroons' maligned front row by injecting the 33-year-old.
