Qld plan to curb alcohol-related violence

Queensland's Labor government has revised its proposed liquor laws.

KEY MEASURES OF QLD'S ALCOHOL VIOLENCE PLAN:

* Last drinks at 2am in pubs and clubs, with Safe Night Precincts able to apply to sell alcohol until 3am on the proviso they have a 1am lockout

* Drinks with high alcohol concentration, such as shots, banned after midnight

* All venues can trade after their last drinks are called but will only be allowed to serve food and non-alcoholic beverages and provide entertainment

* Venues able to apply for up to 12 special permits a year to serve alcohol for longer at special events including New Year's Eve

* Laws set to be introduced in to parliament this week and, if passed, would come into force on July 1

* The plan needs the support of crossbenchers Billy Gordon, Robbie Katter and Shane Knuth
