Qld police shut down steroids network

Queensland police and Australian Border Force officials have arrested 19 people linked to an alleged steroid trafficking network.

Nineteen people have been charged following raids at Queensland properties linked to an alleged steroid-trafficking network.

Officers from Queensland's Taskforce Maxima and the Australian Border Force carried out the blitz across Brisbane and the Gold Coast on Friday after an eight-month investigation.

It's alleged people at a Jindalee home, in Brisbane's west, were receiving, manufacturing and distributing steroids.

Steroids and other substances such as human growth hormone and prescription medicine were seized.

Nineteen people face a total of 50 charges.

The Queensland regional commander of the Australian Border Force, Terry Price, said the investigation began after Border Force officers came across an attempt to bring about 250 grams of steroid powders by post into Brisbane.
