Two men have been charged over the shooting of a police officer in an alleged armed robbery on the Gold Coast.
A 23-year-old and a 47-year-old, both from the Gold Coast, have been charged with one count each of attempted murder, three of armed robbery and 14 counts of deprivation of liberty.
They appeared before a bedside hearing at a Gold Coast medical facility on Friday afternoon and have been remanded in custody until November 11.
Sergeant Gary Hamrey is expected to survive the gunshot wound to his left cheek and has been described as an "amazing man" by Assistant Police Commissioner Graham Rynders.
Mr Rynders said Sgt Hamrey was more concerned about his police dog Rush than himself as he was taken to hospital.

The 12-month-old German Shepherd was not injured in the incident.
"He is in good spirits," Mr Rynders told reporters on Friday.
