Queensland's premier has vowed to tackle costly insurance with the same zeal he's shown on bikie gangs.
While the gangs are dominating the news, Cairns residents have told Campbell Newman they are sick of paying significantly more for insurance than the rest of the state.
A number of callers to far north Queensland radio station 4CA asked Mr Newman what he would do.
"What I do promise is that we are going to go after this ... in the same way that we have been dealing with these law and order issues," Mr Newman said.
A local man suggested Mr Newman deal with insurance companies in the same way he's dealt with bikie gangs, prompting the premier to reply: "You're a man after my own heart".

A female caller said it cost about three times more to insure her home in Cairns than it would in Brisbane.
Mr Newman has promised to raise the issue with the federal government.
