Queensland's annual road toll has increased after a record low tally in 2014.

There were 242 road trauma deaths in 2015 - 19 more than in 2014 when the state recorded its lowest tally since records began.

"That's nothing for anyone to be proud about, it was still way, way too many people dying on our roads throughout the year," Police Commissioner Ian Stewart said.
