Qld Reds complete 2016 coaching staff

Experienced Matt O'Connor has been appointed as Queensland's attack coach, completing the Reds' 2016 Super Rugby coaching panel.

Queensland have completed their coaching staff for the 2016 Super Rugby campaign with Matt O'Connor appointed as the Reds' attack coach.

O'Connor comes to the Reds with almost 20 years of experience behind him including stints as head coach of English club Leicester and Irish team Leinster.

He has signed a three-year deal and joins a coaching panel that includes controversially re-appointed head coach Richard Graham and senior assistant coach Nick Stiles.

The panel was revamped following a review of the Reds' dire four-wins, 12-losses season in 2015 which left them third-last on the overall ladder.

Reds executive general manager Daniel Herbert said he was confident Graham now had the experience around him to turn around the embattled franchise's recent poor record.

"Matt has a proven track record," Herbert said.

"He has a history of improving rugby programs with a strong attack-based approach to his coaching."
