Qld teen accused of setting ex alight

A teenager who allegedly set his ex-girlfriend alight at a house south of Brisbane has appeared briefly in court.

A 17-year-old has faced court accused of setting his ex-girlfriend on fire at a house south of Brisbane.

The girl, also 17, was allegedly doused in a flammable liquid and set alight after an argument at a Marsden home on Friday afternoon.

The accused teenager appeared briefly in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

He didn't apply for bail and was remanded in custody until a hearing on July 29.

The girl remains in hospital with serious burns to her arms, legs and upper body.
